The 14th edition of ‘Youth City 2030’ has kicked off at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, under the theme ‘Beyond Dreams.’
Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the event will provide 5,500 training opportunities through more than 195 specialized programs across five fields: science and technology, arts and culture, leadership and entrepreneurship, media and entertainment, and sports and health.
Youth City 2030, scheduled to run until August 31, is one of the key national projects launched by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. It is designed to nurture national talent and support the local labor market by providing youth with essential skills.
The 14th edition builds on a renewed vision between the Ministry and Tamkeen to enhance youth engagement and their readiness for the labor market. The edition also features a dedicated space for showcasing 84 youth-led entrepreneurial projects, offering a platform to present ideas, foster innovation and express ambitions.
The initiative also integrated AI into more than 70 percent of the training content. The Ministry and the Skills Bahrain initiative have formed a collaborative team to develop innovative training tracks. In addition, a new ‘Talent Committee’ was established to evaluate participants based on systematic criteria to identify promising talents.
Youth City 2030 also includes mental health programs, reflecting its commitment to psychological development. In parallel, the entertainment and side events committee will host more than 150 recreational activities to foster social engagement and teamwork while ensuring a positive environment for youth development.
For this year’s edition, 248 volunteers have been prepared to provide support. The event is set to attract wide interest from visitors and stakeholders. Furthermore, it highlights Bahrain’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening their role in national development.
