Al-Darb Ramadan Market, organized by the Jazan Municipality, has opened for the Ramadan season amid vibrant celebrations filled with cultural character and community spirit, attracting a large number of visitors and shoppers eager to experience its festive atmosphere.
Situated in a historic quarter that was once central to Al-Darb’s thriving trading networks and commercial activity, the venue has undergone extensive and carefully planned renovation to revive its former prominence.
Today, the Al-Darb market seamlessly blends local authenticity and deep-rooted cultural heritage with a contemporary sensibility, creating a space that honors the past while meeting modern expectations.
The project encompasses 75 fixed retail units designed to support established businesses, 30 kiosks allocated to entrepreneurial families to encourage small-scale ventures, and 400 popular vendor stands thoughtfully arranged along designated circulation paths to facilitate smooth mobility, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall visitor experience.
Throughout the holy month, the Al-Darb marketplace comes alive with a vibrant selection of traditional merchandise, Ramadan delicacies, and handcrafted artisan goods. Visitors can wander through stalls of local handicrafts, savor authentic flavors, and relax in traditional cafés serving rich Arabic coffee, all set within a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Beyond fostering vibrant commercial activity, the Al-Darb market actively supports local entrepreneurs and small business owners while safeguarding the region’s rich heritage and traditions, offering a modern yet culturally immersive destination that appeals to both residents and visiting tourists alike.

The Jazan Municipality has been preparing 27 Ramadan markets across Jizan city and the region’s governorates as part of ongoing efforts to support families working in the cottage industry, regulate street vending, and create organized and attractive shopping destinations that reflect the spirit of the holy month.
These markets are designed to provide local families with opportunities to boost their income and showcase a wide range of products, including traditional and Ramadan foods, handicrafts, textiles, perfumes and incense, cosmetics, and accessories.
