Bahrain’s Deputy Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, led the Kingdom’s delegation to a ministerial conference focused on advancing regional dialogue and enhancing security cooperation.

The event, which included representatives from European Union countries and Middle Eastern and North African states, aimed to advance regional dialogue and strengthen collaborative efforts in tackling security challenges.

At the opening session, the Bahrain Deputy Minister of Interior commended the organization of the event and expressed appreciation for the efforts made to provide a constructive environment for the conference.

Regional Dialogue on Security Challenges Takes Center Stage; Bahrain Deputy Minister

Lieutenant General further noted that the forum offers an important platform for regional dialogue and the exchange of views on shared security issues.

Furthermore, Al Fadhel said that the conference provides an opportunity to present security initiatives that support the development of an advanced model of regional police cooperation based on shared responsibility and international solidarity.

He added that enhancing joint security efforts is essential to protecting national resources and upholding state sovereignty, particularly amid rising threats related to organized crime, terrorism, and emerging technologies.

The Deputy Minister of Interior also added that these priorities align with Bahrain’s efforts to reinforce security and stability and to support sustainable development at the regional and international levels.

Ministerial Conference

The conference agenda featured a roundtable discussion focused on how countries can transition from identifying security challenges to crafting coordinated responses within a contemporary regional cooperation framework.

Senior officials also convened to discuss and draft a joint declaration, while additional sessions explored future opportunities for enhanced security cooperation between the two regions, as per the reports.
