Bahrain, France to strengthen economic collaboration

The Kingdom of Bahrain and France have held a meeting to explore cooperation in transport, logistics, and digital innovation and strengthen collaboration between the two countries.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Jean-Christophe Durand, President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain (FCCIB).

During the meeting, they delved into transport and communication networks and explored ways to strengthen economic collaboration between Bahrain and France.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to bolstering economic and investment partnerships with France, particularly in transport, telecommunications, logistics, and digital transformation.

Bahrain Minister praised the chamber’s role over the past decade in promoting economic, investment, and technological cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed also highlighted the key contributions of French companies, notably Aéroports de Paris Ingénierie’s contribution to the design and supervision of the new passenger terminal at Bahrain International Airport and the development of the new air traffic control center, as well as Egis’ involvement in designing and implementing the Express Air Cargo Village project.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted the Kingdom’s vision to deepen collaboration with France, solidifying its position as a key hub for civil aviation and logistics in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

Jean-Christophe Durand praised the strong economic partnership between Bahrain and France, looking forward to expand cooperation in key areas such as transport, logistics, telecommunications, and digital innovation. The president also praised the kingdom of Bahrain for ranking first regionally in ICT readiness.
