Maryam Abdullah Ameen, Assistant Undersecretary for Construction, Projects and Maintenance at the Bahrain Ministry of Works, has confirmed the start of construction works on Bahrain-Kuwait Health Center in Qalali, a facility that forms part of the Primary Health Care Centers network.
The Bahrain-Kuwait Health Center project forms part of the Ministry of Works’ ongoing and strategic efforts to strengthen national infrastructure supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s healthcare system.
It aligns with the government’s broader vision to raise the efficiency and accessibility of public health services while ensuring that citizens and residents across all regions benefit from high-quality, modern healthcare facilities.
Maryam Abdullah Ameen, Assistant Undersecretary for Construction, Projects and Maintenance at the Ministry of Works, explained that the new Bahrain-Kuwait Health Center will be constructed on a total area of 6,828 square metres. The center will feature a modern two-storey main building designed to meet the healthcare needs of the Qalali area and surrounding communities.
She elaborated that the ground floor of the Bahrain-Kuwait Health Centre will include 14 specialist medical clinics, 14 examination rooms, and a fully equipped emergency unit with 12 beds, enabling the center to handle urgent and routine medical cases efficiently.
Meanwhile, the first floor will house a dedicated maternal and child health department, along with eight advanced dental clinics. The floor will also include a wide range of support services, administrative offices, and other essential functions needed to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
The Assistant Undersecretary stressed that the design and construction of the Bahrain-Kuwait Health Center are being carried out in accordance with all approved health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for both patients and medical staff.
She further emphasized that the project incorporates advanced engineering specifications, including sustainability measures and green building standards, in line with Bahrain’s national goals for environmental conservation and resource efficiency.
As part of these efforts, the Bahrain-Kuwait Health Center will also feature energy-saving systems and eco-friendly technologies, which aim to reduce the building’s carbon footprint and operating costs over time.
She further praised the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait for its support of this project, highlighting its valuable role in driving national development and fostering public–private partnership.
