The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) of the Kingdom of Bahrain has launched online property registration, ownership transfer, and application tracking and payment services via the national portal, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority.
The launch of online property registration supports the unification of government services under a single national platform and aligns with the Government Program (2023–2026), with a focus on advancing service digitalization and improving quality.
Access to the services requires the use of eKey or the upgraded eKey 2.0. Through the online property registration and ownership transfer service, users can submit applications and upload required documents electronically in a secure and user-friendly manner. The inquiry service allows applicants to track the status of their requests, make amendments when necessary, and complete fee payments online.
Basim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, President of the Bahrain SLRB, said the launch of the online property registration services via the National Portal marks a key milestone in the Bureau’s digital transformation efforts. He said several initiatives have been completed this year, including upgrades to digital infrastructure, electronic workflow and geographic information systems, the introduction of electronic signatures, the activation of a remote service centre, and stronger integration with entities involved in property registration.
The President added that SLRB is now rolling out the second phase of development, focused on improving connectivity with government and private-sector entities through data unification, smoother information exchange, and streamlined workflows to deliver faster and more reliable services.
Al Hamer noted that SLRB’s coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority ensured a smooth transition and met technical and operational requirements, reflecting a shared commitment to innovative, user-focused government services.
He also said online property registration services were first launched in 2020, removing the need for in-person visits. More than 26,000 registration applications were processed electronically in 2025, underscoring the impact of the digital shift. He stressed that the initiative is part of an ongoing plan to enhance real estate services, simplify procedures, and strengthen integration across entities in line with the government’s digital vision.
