BankDhofar has been empowering young Omanis through the Khutwa program, a digital financial literacy initiative designed for Grade 11 and 12 students.
Launched in late 2025, Khutwa provides interactive modules on personal budgeting, online payments, loans, insurance products, investing basics, and emerging areas like digital assets, equipping students with practical financial skills before entering higher education or the workforce.
Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and other government entities, the program exemplifies BankDhofar’s commitment to youth empowerment and aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes financial inclusion, a knowledge-based economy, and technological adoption.
Digital platforms for broader financial education
Khutwa is part of a wider strategy by BankDhofar to use digital tools and educational platforms for financial literacy.
These platforms offer interactive content accessible on mobile devices and computers, allowing young Omanis to learn at their pace. Partnerships with the Ministry of Education and other agencies ensure these initiatives reach students nationwide, bridging classroom learning with practical financial skills.
Practical banking solutions for youth
Complementing its educational programs, BankDhofar provides youth-focused banking products such as the Youth Account, enabling Omanis aged 18–23 to begin their financial journeys with minimal barriers and full online accessibility. Early access to these tools fosters financial independence, responsibility, and confidence among young users.
BankDhofar’s digital transformation strategy further supports youth empowerment through innovations such as mobile onboarding with video KYC, tokenized mobile payments, and comprehensive digital banking applications, making financial services intuitive and inclusive.
The bank also collaborates with national frameworks like the National Program for Financial Sustainability and Financial Sector Development (Estidama) and youth centers across Oman, reinforcing financial literacy as a pillar of human capital development.
