Bechtel, an American engineering, procurement, construction and project management company, has been selected as a project management consultant (PMC) for the 2030 World Expo in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The flagship event is held every five years in a different host country. The 2030 edition will revolve around the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” focusing on Saudi Vision 2030.

2030 World Expo in Riyadh is expected to emerge as one of the most significant events of the year. The event will gather over 195 countries, 29 international organizations and other unofficial participants. Around 42 million visitors are anticipated for this prestigious event.

As a project management consultant, Bechtel will manage the delivery of the infrastructure program across the six-square-kilometer site, including early works, utilities, roads and the public realm. After the six-month event, the company will also support transforming the site into sustainable urban development.

Expo 2030 Riyadh will serve as a global platform for innovation, collaboration and dialogue. This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to long-term development, incorporating international sustainability standards across areas such as tree planting and reforestation, water treatment and renewable energy sources.
