HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in sustainable energy, advanced technologies and innovation during a high-level meeting in Dubai.
HE Al Tayer has met with Robert Hertzberg, senior fellow at Mission Possible Partnership and board member of First Public Hydrogen, as well as a distinguished delegation from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to discuss joint initiatives in research, development and capacity building.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in research and development, innovation and capacity building, including the design and implementation of specialized training programs and structured knowledge-exchange initiatives.
These initiatives span priority areas such as smart grids, renewable energy, energy storage systems, network modernization and upgrades, energy efficiency, cyber security, photovoltaic system integration and advanced data analytics to enhance operational resilience, optimize system performance and support long-term sustainable growth.
The meeting was attended by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Ghanim Alqassim, Senior Manager – Solar Energy at DEWA, along with senior officials and technical experts from both sides.
Al Tayer reaffirmed DEWA’s commitment to collaborating with leading international organizations to exchange technical expertise, strengthen national capabilities and empower its professionals to play an active role in shaping the future of sustainable energy.
He emphasized that such partnerships support the acceleration of the energy transition, digital transformation and climate action efforts in alignment with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
