The Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released the fourth edition of ‘Digital and Space Sustainability Report’, highlighting the Kingdom’s leading initiatives in promoting digital sustainability.

The report has been unveiled in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the International Telecommunication Union.

The Digital and Space Sustainability Report emphasizes the crucial role of digital and space technologies in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It focuses on key areas such as promoting universal accessibility, driving progress in the circular economy, enhancing energy efficiency, and supporting climate change monitoring.

Through the strategic use of innovation, Saudi Arabia is setting new benchmarks in environmental, economic, and social sustainability, demonstrating how technology can effectively address global environmental challenges.

It also focuses on Saudi Arabia’s leading efforts in digital sustainability, featuring 16 success stories in environmental, economic, and social dimensions, aiming to raise awareness of sustainability across various sectors and the positive impact of technology in achieving the SDGs, while demonstrating outstanding initiatives that serve humanity.

The Digital and Space Sustainability Report showcases CST’s key accomplishments under the ‘CIRCLES’ framework goals, which have garnered international recognition for its leadership in advancing the global circular digital economy.

The highlights of the Digital and Space Sustainability Report include a global call for collaboration through the ‘Digital Wellbeing Index’, hosting the second edition of the ‘Connecting the World from the Skies’ forum, recognizing three ICT sector companies as sustainability champions, and earning a top-tier rating on the ‘Energy Performance Card’ issued by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center.

The Digital and Space Sustainability Report highlights the contributions of over 25 public and private entities to advancing digital sustainability, featuring a wide range of innovations including AI-powered robotics, predictive modeling, eco-friendly materials, space technologies, and satellite applications. It also explores emerging trends that aim to drive sustainability in the evolving digital and space sectors.
