Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has signed an agreement to lease two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Somon Air, supporting the airline’s fleet expansion, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.

The agreement adds Somon Air to the growing global customer portfolio of the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, further advancing DAE’s presence in the international aviation leasing market.

This comes at a time when airlines in emerging markets are increasingly prioritizing fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft to support route development, improve operational performance, and manage rising operating costs.

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise currently owns, manages, and is committed to own or manage approximately 750 aircraft, including 237 Boeing aircraft, and continues to actively expand its fleet to meet growing market demand and support airlines worldwide with modern, efficient aircraft solutions.

Somon Air is the national carrier of Tajikistan and has operated internationally since 2008. The airline focuses on sustainable growth, fleet and network expansion, operates modern technology-driven operations, and serves 25 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The Boeing 737-8 has become a central element of modern fleet renewal strategies, delivering significantly lower fuel burn, reduced emissions, and enhanced range compared with previous-generation narrowbody aircraft. Through leasing, airlines are able to introduce advanced aircraft technology, expand capacity, and maintain financial and balance-sheet flexibility while responding to evolving market demand.
