Dubai Duty Free has been honored with the ‘International Safety Awards for Distinction’ and ‘Best in Sector Award – Retail’ at the British Safety Council Gala Night held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
Organized annually by the British Safety Council, the International Safety Awards celebrate organizations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing management across their operations. Dubai Duty Free has now received the highest ‘Distinction’ rating for the third time, following earlier wins in 2022 and 2024.
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council presented the award to. Dr. Bernard Creed, Senior Vice President, Finance, who attended the event in London and accepted the award on behalf of Dubai Duty Free.
Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Ramesh Cidambi commented on the recognition that, “We are delighted to receive these two awards from the British Safety Council. To be awarded with the highest rating of ‘Distinction’ for the third time is a testament to our continuous effort in ensuring employee safety within the company.”
Dubai Duty Free has been consistently recognized since 2017, earning a mix of Merit and Distinction awards over the years, including Merit in both 2019 and 2023. Its recognition in 2025 underscores its sustained dedication to implementing effective health, safety, and environment (HSE) management systems.
This year’s awards drew 874 entries from companies worldwide. Of these, 90 percent achieved a Distinction, Merit, or Pass rating. Awardees represented a wide range of sectors and regions including the UK, Middle East, Africa, India, China, Europe, Turkey, and the Republic of Ireland.
Dubai Duty Free operates as Integrated Management System in accordance with ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001:2018. It also performs regular audits on HSE System and HSE Operational Procedures as well as monitoring and implementing measures to ensure compliance, workplace safety, and employee well-being.
