The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) has conducted a collaborative workshop with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to explore ongoing and future joint projects aimed at advancing sustainable agricultural practices across the Kingdom.

The workshop underscores the critical importance of integrating research and scientific collaboration to advance sustainable agricultural practices in Saudi Arabia.

Participants emphasized the need to harness cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to tackle pressing environmental challenges, including water scarcity, soil degradation, and climate resilience.

According to the reports, the discussions highlighted the role of joint research in driving long-term sustainability and enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the agricultural sector.

Estidamah Director General Dr. Khalid Al-Ruhaili stated that the partnership with KAUST represents a significant step toward strengthening the research and development framework within the agricultural sector.

Last month, KAUST, in collaboration with the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), launched a technology transfer program aimed at boosting commercialization in Saudi universities.

The initiative seeks to move scientific discoveries and innovations from the lab to the marketplace, thereby strengthening the national economy and driving sustainable growth.
