G42, a leading AI & cloud computing company based in Abu Dhabi, has concluded its flagship event ‘Supercharged’ focused on cultivating an AI-enabled future.
The event attracted over 2,400 employees, partners and global leaders to Abu Dhabi for discussions centered on transforming AI into a real-world utility that is “always on and always learning”. Celebrating its seventh anniversary, G42 highlighted its key achievements such as Stargate UAE and the planned five-gigawatt UAE–US AI Campus.
Supercharged witnessed the virtual presence of Brad Smith, President at Microsoft, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. Smith stated that Microsoft’s $1.5 billion investment highlights its confidence in G42’s people and strategy, while Altman recalled G42’s early recognition of AI’s potential.
Peng Xiao, CEO of G42 Group, highlighted the significance of global collaboration, describing the present as the “golden age of intelligence”. Xiao views AI as “alternative” or “accelerated” intelligence, underlining a human-centered approach.
During the event, Marty Edelman, G42 group general counsel, was honored with the inaugural G42 Catalyst Award for launching key partnerships with US technology firms and co-chairing G42 Europe and UK.
The event included various sectors such as health, space, cybersecurity and clean energy. Mansoor Al Mansoori, the Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, emphasized plans to extend healthy lifespan through AI and genomics, while Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council highlighted the nation’s progress in digital resilience.
Alex Kipman, Founder of Analog, presented latest technologies developed in Abu Dhabi, such as an eight-strong “robodog” display. Panels on responsible AI launched initiatives such as Bee:Wild, which applies frontier tech to protect pollinators.
G42 also introduced a refreshed brand and previewed an AI-powered website that delivers voice- and text-prompted navigation. The production set a regional record with 150 meters of LED screens and immersive 3D audio.
The event concluded with Peng Xiao taking a selfie with the crowd, followed by a global food experience and live performances. Furthermore, Supercharged welcomed five students from UAE university who won a competition for emerging AI talent, highlighting G42’s commitment to developing the next generation of innovators.
