The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the commencement of exceptional flight operations across UAE airports to facilitate the departure of passengers stranded due to recent regional developments.

The regulator said the special operations will be conducted in accordance with flight schedules communicated directly by airlines to affected passengers and relevant destinations. The move follows temporary suspensions and widespread disruptions across regional airspace over the past days.

The GCAA urged passengers whose flights have been impacted not to travel to airports unless they have received confirmed departure details from their respective airlines. The directive is aimed at preventing congestion and ensuring orderly processing as operations gradually resume.

The Authority expressed appreciation for passengers’ cooperation, emphasizing that strict adherence to official guidance is essential to maintaining safe and efficient airport operations during this transitional phase.

National carriers begin limited operations

UAE national carriers confirmed that exceptional and limited flight services would begin from Monday evening, operating under strict safety oversight and in close coordination with relevant authorities.

Etihad Airways announced the resumption of limited operations from Zayed International Airport while confirming that all regularly scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remain cancelled until further notice.

In a statement, Etihad clarified that select repositioning, cargo, and repatriation flights may operate subject to regulatory approvals. The airline stated that, “Safety remains our absolute priority, and services will operate only once all safety criteria are met.”

Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited number of flights will operate from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

Emirates stated that it will begin operating a limited number of flights starting by prioritizing customers with earlier bookings. The airline confirmed that rebooked passengers will be contacted directly, while all other services remain suspended.

The GCAA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards while working closely with airlines and airport operators to restore normal services as conditions permit.
