The tech giant Google is reportedly developing its AI Chatbot ‘Gemini Live’ by adding support for a second language.

This new cutting-edge feature will enable users to interact with the AI chatbot in two different languages, supporting both spoken and written communication. With this move, Google aims to elevate the user experience to new heights by allowing Gemini Live to comprehend and respond in the same language.

This was initially hinted at in December. The latest update to Google’s support pages serves as further confirmation of this promising development. The updated support page stated that, “In settings, you can add up to 2 languages to talk with Gemini Live in.”

With Gemini Live, Google’s cutting-edge voice chat feature, users can dynamically switch languages mid-way through a conversation and can also converse in hybrid languages such as Hinglish (a mix of Hindi and English) and Spanglish (a mix of Spanish and English).

Although it offers promising features, Gemini Live can still struggle to accurately understand a second language, even after repeated prompts. This feature is currently limited to Gemini Live, not available across other Google AI interactions.

Furthermore, Google has updated its Gemini Live support page. Previously, the feature supported 30 languages, but this has now been expanded to over 45 languages. According to a report by Android Authority, Google is now working on a settings option to allow users to manually set a second language.

It’s worth noting that despite the excitement surrounding Gemini Live’s promising capabilities, Google has yet to announce an official release date for this feature.
