Kuwait Airways has launched a new ‘economy class without baggage’ travel category, designed to allow passengers to fly carrying only a lightweight cabin bag instead of checked luggage, offering greater flexibility and convenience for travelers seeking hassle-free, streamlined journeys.

Chairperson Abdulmohsen Al Faqaan emphasized that this innovative ‘economy class without baggage’ category provides travelers with a broader range of choices tailored to their specific needs, especially ideal for short business trips or quick personal journeys where carrying large suitcases or heavy baggage is unnecessary.

Al Faqaan explained that passengers opting for new fare under ‘economy class without baggage’ can bring a single cabin bag weighing up to seven kilograms and enjoy the convenience of issuing their boarding passes directly at Terminal 4 self-service machines.

Al-Faqaan further highlighted Kuwait Airways’ commitment to simplifying every stage of the passenger journey, starting from entering the terminal, continuing through seamless check-in procedures, and culminating in onboard comfort supported by modern entertainment and excellent hospitality.

The airline has restructured its economy class into four distinct categories:

  • Economy Class Without Baggage: allows hand luggage only, with 50 percent mileage for Oasis Club members.
  • Economy Saver: includes one checked bag up to 32 kilograms, also with 50 percent mileage.
  • Standard Economy: offers two checked bags of 23 kilograms each, providing full mileage.
  • Economy Flex: includes two checked bags of 23 kilograms each, with 125 percent mileage for enhanced travel benefits

Kuwait Airways, originally established in 1953 as Kuwait National Airways Limited, commenced its first flights on March 16, 1954. The government acquired full ownership in 1962. This new launch reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to expanding its range of services and destinations, enhancing travel convenience, and providing diverse options to better meet the varying needs of its passengers.
