Kuwait’s Ambassador to Portugal Hamad Al Hazeem has highlighted his commitment to promoting economic and investment cooperation between Kuwait and Portugal, and encouraged Kuwaiti companies to expand their presence and explore greater business opportunities in the Portuguese market.

The Kuwaiti Ambassador stated that he met with Massimiliano Maiocco, Operating Director of Kuwait Petroleum Company- Spain, a subsidiary of the Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8), along with Retail and Marketing Manager Abdullah Al-Roumi, at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Lisbon late Thursday to discuss the company’s recent license to commence operations in Portugal.

Al Hazeem added that he facilitated an official meeting between the company’s team and Director-General of the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP), Rafael Rocha, to discuss potential cooperation with the Portuguese private sector and explore joint investment opportunities in the energy and petroleum services sector.

The envoy praised the company’s decision to expand its operations in Portugal, describing it as a significant move that will further strengthen the Kuwait-Portuguese economic and trade relations. He underlined that the embassy would keep providing support and help to companies from Kuwait, wishing to invest in Portugal in a bid to promote economic and trade relations between Kuwait and Portugal.

Massimiliano Maiocco, Operating Director of Kuwait Petroleum Company – Spain, has  emphasized the pivotal role of the Kuwaiti Diplomat in strengthening relations between Kuwaiti and Portuguese companies, highlighting his efforts in fostering collaboration and mutual understanding. He noted that such diplomatic and economic initiatives are instrumental in bolstering bilateral ties and enhancing the presence of Kuwaiti economy and its competitiveness in the European market.
