Matarat Holding and its subsidiaries have launched the ‘Wa’ed’ program to develop national capabilities in airport operations and management, in partnership with the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the Ministry of Education, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The Wa’ed program, developed in collaboration with Dublin Airport operator daa, aims to equip Saudi professionals with the skills and knowledge required for modern airport operations and administration.

The training focuses on critical specializations that directly support the growing operational and managerial needs across Saudi airports, in line with the sector’s rapid transformation and expansion.

The Saudi Embassy in Dublin and the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Ireland have played a key role in supporting the Wa’ed program, helping to facilitate its launch and strengthen institutional collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Irish educational and aviation institutions. Their support ensured smooth coordination and the development of a framework that aligns with the Kingdom’s strategic objectives.

Matarat Holding, which oversees the management of 27 airports across Saudi Arabia through its subsidiaries, is at the forefront of efforts to modernize airport infrastructure and improve service delivery. The company’s vision aligns with the goals outlined in the National Aviation Strategy, itself a core pillar of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

The Wa’ed program represents a strategic step in preparing a new generation of Saudi aviation professionals, ensuring they are equipped with international expertise and real-world operational exposure. By investing in its people and fostering global partnerships, Matarat continues to contribute to the sustainable growth and global competitiveness of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
