The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to organize the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) 2026.

The MoU represents an extension of the existing partnership between the two parties and underscores the Kingdom’s growing role in leading global dialogue on the future of logistics services and supply chains.

The MoU was signed by the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Mawani, Board Chairman, Saleh Al-Jasser, alongside Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

According to the statement, the cooperation intends to ensure the professional organization of the forum through close coordination between Mawani and UNCTAD across logistical, organizational, and technical aspects.

The collaboration will deliver an integrated experience for participants and enhance the quality of the forum’s outcomes by supporting the work of UNCTAD’s preparatory teams throughout the event’s preparation stages.

The partnership reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting international efforts to develop the maritime sector and strengthen the resilience and sustainability of global supply chains. It also highlights Mawani’s role as an active partner in enabling global initiatives that contribute to building a more efficient and sustainable future for the logistics sector.

This alignment will enhance integration between national and international initiatives related to the logistics sector and supply chains.

Saudi Minister Al-Jasser emphasized that hosting GSCF 2026 embodies the Kingdom’s advanced position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents, and it reflects the rapid progress in achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
