The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has officially granted a unified license to international shipping line Global Shipping Line (PIL), recognizing it as an authorized foreign investor.
This move allows PIL to operate maritime agencies across the Kingdom’s ports, marking a significant step in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s maritime and logistics sector.
According to the statement, the license is issued in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Maritime Agency Services, reflecting Mawani’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of the maritime sector and improving the quality of operational services provided at ports.
Furthermore, the initiative seeks to attract global expertise and foster knowledge transfer within the Kingdom, helping to elevate local capabilities. By incorporating international best practices, it aims to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s maritime transport industry.
