The latest survey reports from data solutions startup IQ Data close to 63% of Dubai dwellers raised their online buying during the recent lockdown in the emirate.
Even after the restrictions eased, almost one-third of the surveyed plan to continue their use of online services. While businesses across the emirate, like those the world over, have suffered very much during the COVID-19, retail vendors with a strong e-commerce presence have succeeded to keep their business.
According to the IQ Data statistics, 63 percent of Dubai residents have reported increasing their usage of online grocery websites and apps, with shoppers equating 2.6 online services each.
The bulk of all survey respondents (60 %) were interested in Brands including Carrefour, Amazon, Noon and Union Coop.
In Dubai, 29 % of respondents will continue their increased use of online grocery shopping services even after the virus has passed based on the IQ Data statistics.
“So in this sense, the Covid-19 pandemic has only served to accelerate an already existing consumer trend in shifting retail habits from physical shopping towards e-commerce merchants,” the survey report appended.
