The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a comprehensive document titled ‘Cybersecurity Controls for Private Sector Entities Without Critical Infrastructure’, outlining a set of minimum requirements aimed at strengthening cybersecurity practices across private sector organizations that do not operate critical infrastructure.
The document aims to set minimum cybersecurity controls for private sector entities that do not operate critical infrastructure, helping them mitigate risks from both internal and external cyber threats and safeguard vital information and technical assets.
By providing clear guidance, the Cybersecurity Controls support the broader goal of enhancing cybersecurity across the Kingdom and contributes to creating a safer and more resilient digital environment at the national level.
The NCA is the official competent authority for cybersecurity in the Kingdom and serves as the national reference for all cybersecurity-related matters. It works to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity posture, protecting the state’s vital interests and national security, while also safeguarding critical infrastructure, priority sectors, and essential government services and activities.
As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the Kingdom is committed to advancing its security, economy, and citizens’ well-being through digital transformation and modernized infrastructure. This includes enhancing digital services, AI, IT/OT systems, and adapting to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while ensuring secure and reliable information flow.
To protect vital interests, national security, critical infrastructure, high-priority sectors, and government services, the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) was established under Royal Decree 6801 (11/2/1439H) as the national reference for cybersecurity. NCA develops and enforces policies, frameworks, standards, controls, and guidelines, and continuously monitors organizational compliance to address the growing cybersecurity risks across the Kingdom.
