NMC Healthcare, one of the UAE’s leading integrated private healthcare providers, has announced the acquisition of Orthoplus Bone and Joint Center in Al Ain.
This strategic move marks a significant expansion of NMC’s healthcare services, reinforcing its commitment to providing comprehensive care to patients across the Emirates.
Established in 2017, Orthoplus is a well-known, JCI ‘Gold Seal of Approval’-accredited multispecialty clinic providing Orthopedics, Physiotherapy, Urology, Dental, Neurosurgery, Family Medicine, and General Medicine. It is located near NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain, offering services to the residents of the densely populated Central District of Al Ain.
The acquisition aligns with NMC Healthcare’s strategy to broaden its portfolio and strengthen its core multi-specialty services across the UAE.
As part of this expansion, the group aims to enhance existing facilities and improve the overall patient experience to fuel growth. To leverage the synergies between the two brands, Orthoplus will be rebranded as NMC Orthoplus Bone and Joint Center.
In recent years, Orthoplus has clinically collaborated with NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain to provide a seamless continuum of care for patients who require surgical and inpatient care. According to the statement, the future plans will see Orthoplus expand beyond an orthopedic center and add more primary care specialties, therapeutic modalities, and diagnostic capabilities. NMC Healthcare will also bring in additional orthopedic surgeons and General Practitioners (GPs) to boost the team.
Orthoplus founder, Dr. Sanil Sathyadasan, has been appointed as the Medical Director of NMC’s Al Ain network, while continuing his orthopedic practice at Orthoplus. He will work closely with the healthcare provider’s senior leadership to develop and implement a strategy to strengthen orthopedic specialty services across all NMC hospitals and clinics.
