The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in the Sultanate of Oman has signed 13 usufruct contracts valued at more than $7 Million (RO 2.7 million) for the development and implementation of a range of investment projects in the governorates of A’Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah.
Signed in cooperation with the Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the contracts are aimed at strengthening the economy and supporting food security.
They focus on boosting the agricultural and fisheries sectors, encouraging sustainable practices, and increasing local food production. This will help reduce reliance on imports, create more opportunities for investment and jobs, and ensure stable, reliable food resources for the future.
The signing of the contracts highlights the Oman government’s commitment to optimizing the use of agricultural land for sustainable projects that boost local crop production and allow entrepreneurs to play a stronger role in driving economic growth across the governorates. It also supports the broader goals of economic diversification and strengthening national food security.
The contracts aim to stimulate economic activity, attract investors, and create added value through strategic projects that contribute to the growth and diversification of the national economy. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; Dr.Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources; Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah; and Eng. Hamad Ali Al Nazwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Housing; in addition to senior government officials, investors and agricultural sector entrepreneurs.
