The Oman Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed a contract in Muscat with the National Travel Operator to develop and implement an advanced integrated digital platform designed to enhance tourism services, improve visitor experiences, and support the growth of Oman’s tourism sector.
This project will enable licensed Omani independent tourist guides to directly showcase their services and experiences to tourists. It will also ensure these offerings are promoted locally and internationally through global distribution channels. The project will be implemented in two main phases.
The first phase focuses on preparing and developing rich digital content for various tourist experiences across Oman. This includes writing professional and engaging descriptions, as well as equipping tour guides with the necessary instructions, training, and tools to produce high-quality visual content, such as photos and videos.
In addition, the content will be carefully optimized to meet the standards and requirements of search engines and international booking platforms, ensuring global visibility and accessibility for potential visitors.
The second phase will center on launching the fully integrated digital platform. This platform will be directly connected to major global distribution channels, offering seamless access to a wide audience of travelers. It will feature a comprehensive booking system, full support in both Arabic and English, and secure electronic payment services to make the booking process smooth and user-friendly.
Furthermore, the digital platform will provide guides with a dedicated portal to manage their content, update their profiles, and promote their own tourism experiences, thereby creating a more interactive and collaborative ecosystem within Oman’s growing tourism sector.
Additionally, the project includes a comprehensive digital marketing plan with advertising campaigns across digital platforms, promotion on global booking sites, and improved search engine visibility. This will enhance the presence of Omani tourist experiences and increase booking rates.
The contract was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, and on behalf of the operator by Shabib bin Mohammed Al Maamari, General Manager of the National Travel Operator.
