Omantel has launched Otech, a next-generation technology provider designed to drive Oman’s digital transformation, unify technological capabilities, and strengthen the foundations of a knowledge-based, integrated digital economy.

Otech unveiling took place at the Royal Opera House Muscat under the patronage of Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, with representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as technology and digital transformation experts. Strategic partnerships were also announced, highlighting Otech’s growing ecosystem and expanding operations.

During the ceremony, the tech provider has launched  strategic partnerships with global and local players, including Oracle (hyperscale computing), PwC (cybersecurity solutions), Nagarro (systems integration), Palo Alto Networks (cyber threat intelligence), Fortinet (cloud-enabled SASE), Nama Shared Services (smart utilities), and Omani startups Orki, Decoil, and Remedy (AI and enterprise solutions).

Mulhim bin Bashir Al Jarf, Deputy Chairman of Oman Investment Authority and Chairman of Omantel, stated that Otech’s launch strengthens Omantel’s shift from a telecom operator to an integrated digital technology company, driving innovation and the digital economy. This transformation aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, focusing on modern infrastructure, digital solutions, national capabilities, and sustainable economic value.

Eng. Aladdin Abdullah Baitfadhil, CEO of Omantel and Chairman of Otech, noted that the launch of Otech marks a transformative step for both the company and Oman’s digital sector. By creating a unified technology ecosystem, Otech aims to drive innovation, competitiveness, and the digital economy, supporting Oman Vision 2040 and national economic diversification.

Baitfadhil said that initiative will introduce advanced technologies, empower national capabilities, accelerate digital transformation, and strengthen Oman’s position as a regional hub for telecom and technology, ensuring long-term resilience and global digital presence.

Eng. Maqbool Salim Al Wahaibi, Acting CEO of Otech, said integrating Oman Data Park into Otech’s ecosystem marks a major step in digital infrastructure.
