Omantel has partnered with the Omani Association for Children with Disability to support the funding of the ‘Sensory Boxes’ initiative.

The program aims to equip the association’s branches with specialized sensory boxes designed to support the learning, development, and sensory engagement of children with disabilities.

Empowering inclusive learning through technology

The partnership reflects Omantel’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to support all segments of society. By introducing innovative educational and technological tools, the initiative seeks to enhance cognitive and sensory development while promoting more inclusive and supportive learning environments.

The sensory boxes will be distributed across the Omani Association for Children with Disability branches, providing modern, effective, and safe rehabilitation tools.

The initiative is designed to improve access to sensory integration services, ensuring children with sensory challenges receive specialized support that meets contemporary standards.

Qais bin Mohamed Al Amri, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Omantel, stated that, “This collaboration reflects Omantel’s commitment to empowering children with disabilities by harnessing technology as a tool for innovative learning and engagement. Innovation in education is key to building inclusive environments where all children have equal opportunities to grow and thrive.”

“Through this partnership, the Omani Association for Children with Disability branches will gain easier access to high-quality sensory integration services. Leveraging technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we aim to deliver safe, effective rehabilitation tools that enhance communication, social interaction, and sensory development for children with disabilities,” Al Amri added.

Corporate commitment to social responsibility

This initiative reinforces Omantel’s long-standing commitment to using technology for societal benefit. The company’s previous community-focused projects include digital education programs, youth innovation platforms, sustainability-driven solutions, and the internationally recognized ‘Maqroo’ font, the first Arabic font developed specifically for individuals with dyslexia.

The sensory boxes are designed to stimulate the senses, strengthen cognitive abilities, improve focus, and encourage exploration and fine motor skills. They also foster social interaction and communication, helping children with disabilities develop essential life skills in supportive environments.
