Consumer goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G), in partnership with Yellow Door Energy, has commissioned a 500 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar carport at its UAE headquarters in Jebel Ali Freezone Authority (JAFZA).

The fully operational solar installation is projected to generate 816,500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity in its first year, meeting more than 50 percent of the building’s annual electricity demand.

The facility comprises over 870 high-efficiency bifacial solar panels, which maximize on-site renewable energy production while providing shading for 144 parking spaces.

This project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 330,000 kilograms annually, supporting P&G’s Net Zero by 2040 ambition and contributing to the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Clean Energy Strategy.

The commissioning ceremony at P&G’s UAE head office was attended by senior executives from P&G, Yellow Door Energy, and Value Addition, the EPC contractor.
