PurePipe, the Switzerland-based leading technology company specializing in smart and sustainable piping systems, revealed plans to establish a global center for technical testing and the assembly of Mobile Pipe Production Units (MPPU) in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The $60 million project was unveiled during the Gulf Gateway Investment Forum 2025, held in Bahrain, highlighting PurePipe’s commitment to advancing innovation and sustainable industrial development in the region.
PurePipe’s advanced piping systems and its patented digital platforms improve the design, construction, and maintenance of water and energy infrastructure. The establishment is located in the Bahrain International Investment Park. It represents a significant milestone in PurePipe’s global expansion and reflects the company’s confidence in Bahrain as a leading destination for investment in advanced manufacturing and clean technology.
The mobile and automated production model enables pipeline assembly directly at project sites, reducing transportation needs, material waste, and potential environmental impact. Through its Bahrain project, the company is testing pilot technical programs in the GCC and Europe, including collaboration with Gas Networks Ireland. This is expected to pave the way for the full commercial rollout of PurePipe technology by 2026, supporting the transition to smarter and more resilient infrastructure networks.
Nick Cochrane-Dyet, Chairman of PurePipe, highlighted that Bahrain’s strategic location, strong industrial base, and supportive ecosystem make it the ideal site for the company’s global technical testing and Mobile Pipe Production Unit centre, reflecting their long-term commitment to smart infrastructure and sustainable growth.
The Bahrain center will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and skills development, alongside its operational role. PurePipe also plans to partner with stakeholders in the region’s water and energy sectors to advance applied innovation, while training and developing Bahraini talent in automation, materials science, and digital systems.
The PurePipe centre in Bahrain is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s global network and accelerating the deployment of advanced infrastructure solutions worldwide, building on its current operations in the UAE and its growing presence in Europe and the GCC countries.
