Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) and the European services company WEX has partnered to launch a joint fuel card (CartissimaQ8-WEX) in the Italian market, as part of a strategic partnership between the two sides.
KPI emphasized that this initiative is aimed at strengthening its presence in Italy by opening a new sales channel in collaboration with WEX, a global platform renowned for facilitating business solutions. The goal is to offer more efficient services to fleet operators and corporate clients throughout the country.
KPI’s CEO, Shafi Al-Ajmi, highlighted that this agreement aligns with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s 2040 vision, which focuses on expanding its subsidiaries globally while adopting innovative and sustainable energy solutions. Al-Ajmi added that the deal marks another significant step in growing the reach of the CartissimaQ8 fuel card, a leading solution in the Italian fuel card sector.
Under the agreement, WEX’s customers will have access to a network of over 3,400 service stations, which include Q8, Q8easy, and authorized partners. Additionally, they will benefit from advanced fuels like Q8 HVO and Q8 Hi Perform, both of which are designed to combine high performance with eco-friendly mobility.
Vincenzo Maniacci, Director of the Cards and Digital Payments Sector at KPI’s Italy branch, expressed that the partnership is a strategic move that strengthens the company’s position in the fuel card market, while further solidifying the CartissimaQ8 card’s value as an integrated solution for corporate fleets.
Kate Reichenbach, Managing Director of European Mobility Solutions at WEX, described the agreement with KPI as a pivotal milestone in WEX’s efforts to expand its network in the Italian market. The partnership will merge KPI’s extensive and reliable service network with WEX’s capabilities in sales, marketing, and operations.
