Qatar Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, has met with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, visiting Qatar to discuss enhancing bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of topics of mutual interest, all aimed at further strengthening and enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the commercial, investment, and industrial fields. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying practical avenues to boost trade exchanges, broaden business partnerships, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge, expertise, and technology across key economic sectors.

Qatar and Azerbaijan also examined ways to support, sustain, and further develop this cooperation through targeted initiatives, bilateral agreements, and frameworks designed to encourage long-term collaboration.

Both nations further explored in detail the successful economic policies adopted by the State of Qatar, which are specifically designed to empower and strengthen the role of the private sector as a key driver of national growth. The discussions highlighted the attractive incentives, investor-friendly legislation, and diverse opportunities that Qatar offers, ranging from infrastructure and industry to advanced technology and services.

During the official visit, representatives from Azerbaijan had also held meeting with Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Investment Authority. The discussions focused on exploring significant opportunities to expand joint investment activities between Azerbaijan and Qatar, with both sides highlighting the importance of strengthening economic cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on promoting mutual investments, advancing potential joint projects, and enhancing partnerships between the business communities of both countries.

The meetings underscored the nation’s commitment to position itself as a regional hub for investment and innovation, while creating a highly competitive environment that encourages both local and international investors and business leaders to establish and expand their presence in the Qatari market.
