Qatar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazil to strengthen cooperation in the field of radio spectrum management during the ITU Council 2025 meeting held in Geneva.
The State of Qatar was represented by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), and the Federative Republic of Brazil was represented by the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL).
The MoU highlights both parties’ commitment to fostering collaboration for the efficient use of radio spectrum and the advancement of radiocommunication services. It was signed by Ahmad Abdulla AlMuslemani, President of CRA Engineer, and Carlos Manuel Baigorri, President of ANATEL.
The agreement also reflects both nations’ shared vision to deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
As part of the MoU, Qatar and Brazil will work together to manage the radio spectrum environment, address radio spectrum monitoring such as satellite-based monitoring, and exchange expertise in education and training to contribute to the human resource development in radio spectrum management.
Furthermore, it includes cooperation in international conferences focused on spectrum management hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and other relevant organizations. It also seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices to elevate program management of special events.
This strategic move falls in line with the shared goals of both countries to foster innovation, meet the evolving needs of technological landscapes and develop international cooperation in the telecommunications sector.
