The State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a landmark agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in labor affairs and human resource development.

The deal marks a significant move toward deeper coordination and strategic partnership between the two Gulf nations.

The agreement was signed by the State of Qatar’s Minister of Labor, HE Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, and UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization HE Dr Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar.

The signing is part of the State of Qatar’s broader strategy to strengthen cooperation with governments and international organizations in the labor sector. The agreement aims to enhance bilateral collaboration, support the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and promote the adoption of international best practices in workforce development and human resource management.

Under the agreement, both countries will implement joint initiatives focused on labor legislation and the regulation of employment relations. This includes cooperation on recruitment policies, working conditions, occupational safety and health, and mechanisms for dispute resolution. The partnership also covers the development of systems for registering and employing job seekers, along with programs aimed at training, upskilling, and requalifying the national workforce to meet evolving labor market needs.

According to the reports, the agreement will also pave the way for field visits aimed at studying best practices and exchanging expertise in human resource development. In addition, it will support joint initiatives in the labor sector and promote the sharing of labor market data, research publications, and updates on the latest legislative developments.
