The State of Qatar has unveiled a new digital transformation roadmap for its transport and logistics sector, supporting a nationwide effort to advance digitization in key economic areas and reinforce the country’s position as a smart regional logistics hub.

The roadmap, announced during MWC25 Doha by the Qatar Ministries of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Transport, is a key output of Qatar’s Digital Transformation Offices initiative, which aims to build integrated digital ecosystems across transport, logistics, tourism, infrastructure and healthcare.

The offices focus on boosting innovation, empowering the private sector, improving user experience, and embedding AI at the core of sectoral strategies, while also driving collaboration, enhancing service efficiency, and supporting long-term digital competitiveness.

Reem Al Mansoori, MCIT’s Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry, stated that the roadmap includes 39 strategic initiatives designed to redesign the national transport system through smarter data-driven supply chains. She noted that the integrated digital ecosystem is expected to contribute more than $76.35 million (QAR 278,000,000) to the non-oil ICT sector.

Khalifa Al Hajri, adviser to the Minister of Transport, stressed the importance of shifting from traditional infrastructure to intelligent management systems to maintain competitiveness. He noted that the roadmap centers on three pillars: infrastructure efficiency, service integration and global connectivity.

One of its flagship projects is the Digital Logistics Services Portal, a single-window platform for all operators in the sector aimed at streamlining procedures and integrating transport services across modes.

The ministries will also work with partners on digital asset management platforms, advanced data analytics systems, and smart-port and smart-airport services, alongside initiatives to enhance public-private collaboration through unified digital solutions.
