Qatar’s Government Communications Office (GCO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support Serbia’s participation in future editions of Web Summit Qatar.
The MoU was signed by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, Director of the GCO and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organizing Committee, and Marko Cadez, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of senior officials.
The three-year agreement was signed on the sidelines of the third edition of Web Summit Qatar, which runs until February 4. Under the agreement, the two sides will expand cooperation in international events and work to increase Serbian participation in upcoming editions of Web Summit Qatar.
The signing was accompanied by the launch of a dedicated pavilion for Serbian startups, marking a new step in economic and technological cooperation between the two countries. The initiative provides Serbian startups, investors, and decision-makers greater access to the MENA’s largest technology platform, strengthening their engagement with the global innovation ecosystem.
Sheikh Jassim said the agreement reflects Qatar’s commitment to expanding global partnerships in innovation and the digital economy. He noted that Web Summit Qatar plays a major role in connecting startups with investors and decision-makers, while supporting deeper economic and technological ties.
He added that Serbia’s participation through a national startup pavilion offers valuable opportunity to showcase its technology capabilities, build partnerships across Qatar and the wider region, and open new pathways for investment and growth.
Marko Cadez remarked that the practical implementation of this partnership, combining Serbia’s strong engineering expertise with Qatar’s market knowledge, would create tangible results.
Web Summit Qatar brings together startups, investors, and technology leaders from around the world and serves as a major platform for advancing innovation ecosystems and strengthening international economic and technological cooperation.
