SPIEF 2025; QC reaffirms commitment to enhancing ties with Russia

Qatar Chamber (QC) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing economic ties with Russia at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025), held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Representing Qatar Chamber, Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al-Misnad, Board Member of QC and Chairman of the Qatari side of the Qatari-Russian Joint Business Council, held a series of meetings with Russian business leaders and economic officials, aimed at exploring ways to deepen the trade and economic cooperation between Qatar and Russia.

Qatari-Russian Joint Business Council’s key role in fostering Qatar-Russia business relations and investment opportunities in both countries were highlighted.

Abdullatif Al-Misnad also emphasized the Qatari private sector’s interest in strengthening cooperation with its Russian counterpart and cement Qatar’s position as a key hub for Russian trade in the region.

Furthermore, Al-Misnad reaffirmed the Chamber’s support for fostering partnerships between Qatari and Russian companies, as well as cultivating a thriving environment for building mutually beneficial business and investment alliances. Al-Misnad also invited Russian investors to explore Qatar’s attractive investment climate and various opportunities available in the country.

The event marks the 28th edition of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, gathering international companies, heads of government, senior officials and experts from around the world. The forum serves as a global platform that offers practical solutions for businesses and governments, tackling the geographic and information barriers between Russia and other countries.

In addition to QC, the Qatar delegation included Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairsآ and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Qatar Investment Authority and the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar).
