A high-level delegation from the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), operating under the umbrella of Qatar Chamber, has joined in the Singapore Convention Week on Mediation 2025.
The event, recognized as one of the foremost global platforms for dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation, and litigation, was held in Singapore with the participation of international leaders, practitioners, and policy makers in the field.
The delegation was led by QICCA Vice Chairman Dr Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani and included QICCA Secretary-General Ibrahim Shahbeek. Their presence underscored Qatar’s commitment to promoting dialogue and cooperation on global dispute resolution frameworks while strengthening QICCA’s role as a regional hub for arbitration and mediation services.
As part of its official program, the delegation held a meeting with Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Martina Polasek based in Washington.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed areas of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation and developing institutional relations between QICCA and ICSID. The talks also touched on the potential for knowledge-sharing initiatives, training programs, and expertise exchange that could bolster the efficiency of arbitration practices. The dialogue reflected a shared vision to expand the scope of international cooperation in resolving cross-border investment and commercial disputes.
The QICCA delegation also paid a visit to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), one of the world’s leading institutions in the administration of arbitration cases.
QICCA’s participation in the Singapore Convention Week comes in line with its strategic objectives to strengthen global partnerships, exchange knowledge, and adopt international best practices in arbitration and mediation.
By doing so, the center aims to further consolidate its position as a leading regional institution for dispute resolution and a trusted platform for businesses and investors seeking fair, transparent, and efficient outcomes.
