The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center (RIPC) has launched a geospatial verification service for infrastructure assets, enabling contractors and executing entities to review the locations of existing assets at project sites before the start of excavation works.

The Geospatial Verification Service comes as part of transformational efforts to regulate the infrastructure sector, enhance overall safety levels, protect critical assets, and improve the quality and efficiency of project execution.

The service aims to display the existing infrastructure network to contractors within the permit area before excavation begins, including water, electricity, telecommunications, and road networks.

This proactive approach of the Geospatial Verification Service helps reduce unintentional encroachments on existing assets, limit service interruptions, safeguard infrastructure investments, and avoid conflicts during execution.

In addition, the Geospatial Verification Service enables contractors to plan excavation works more accurately, enhance on-site execution efficiency, improve coordination and information sharing among relevant entities, and ensure full compliance with approved technical standards and regulatory requirements.

The launch of the Geospatial Verification Service is part of the Osoul Program, which encompasses a range of regulatory, technical, and technological initiatives aimed at developing and modernizing the infrastructure sector in the Riyadh Region. The program seeks to raise planning and execution efficiency, enhance integration and coordination among relevant entities, and improve overall work quality and compliance.

These initiatives are expected to have a positive impact on the urban landscape and the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, support sustainable urban development, reduce operational challenges, and keep pace with the city’s rapid growth and future expansion needs.
