Dubai RTA to offer 350 unique number plates at its 79th Online Auction

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to provide 350 unique plates consisting of three, four, and five-digit combinations for private vehicles, classic vehicles, and motorcycles at its upcoming 79th Online Auction.

The auction will feature plates with codes from H to Z, covering the following categories: H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.

Starting Monday, 19 May 2025, registration for the auction will remain open for a limited period of five days. The auction is set to go live on Monday, 26 May 2025. All sales are subject to a 5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT), and only those who hold a valid traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai are eligible.

To take part in this exciting auction, bidders need to submit a security check payable to RTA amounting $1,361 (AED 5,000), along with a non-refundable participation fee of $32.67 (AED 120). Participants can make payments at the Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, or via credit card through the RTA website.

The successful bidders need to finalize the payment within 10 working days from the auction’s closing date as per the terms of the auction. Payments can be made at authorized service provider centers as follows: cash for amounts up to $13,610 (AED 50,000), and certified check or credit card for amounts exceeding AED 50,000. Transactions may also be completed at Customer Happiness Centres or via the RTA’s website.

RTA’s 78th e-Auction offered 300 exclusive two, three, four, and five-digit license plates for private and vintage vehicles as well as motorcycles.
