Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), has joined global leaders at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in India for a high-level session on harnessing artificial intelligence to drive sustainable and inclusive progress.
The Saudi delegation was led by SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi and included Saudi Ambassador to India Haitham Al-Maliki, as well as senior officials from relevant government entities. Their participation reflected the Kingdom’s strategic commitment to international AI collaboration and governance.
The summit brought together representatives from more than 70 countries and 25 international organizations, alongside senior policymakers, technology leaders, and AI researchers.
During the session, participating nations discussed the establishment of a global network of specialized AI scientific institutions aimed at increasing research and innovation through advanced technologies.
The initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation among governments, research centers, and multilateral organizations while promoting the responsible deployment of AI to address pressing global challenges and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.
Dr. Abdulrahman Habib, Deputy Chief Strategy Officer at SDAIA, stressed the importance of unified international efforts to promote the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence. He made the case for governance frameworks that ensure AI delivers sustainable and equitable benefits to societies and economies worldwide.

Habib outlined that Saudi Arabia’s progress in developing comprehensive regulatory frameworks and national AI policies is designed to balance innovation with oversight of emerging technologies.
Abdulrahman Habib also noted that the applied AI models implemented across the Kingdom have improved public service delivery, enhanced operational efficiency in government entities, and contributed to environmental sustainability initiatives.
SDAIA’s engagement at the summit reinforces Saudi Arabia’s expanding role in shaping the global AI agenda. The Kingdom has positioned data and artificial intelligence as central pillars of its national transformation strategy under Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation, economic diversification, and innovation-driven growth.
