Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, met in Paris with Benjamin Gallezot, France’s Ministerial Delegate for Strategic Metals and Minerals Supply, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom and France in the mining and minerals sector.

The two officials underscored the robust economic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic, highlighting the importance of broadening cooperation in the mining sector. They discussed opportunities to jointly explore and develop critical mineral resources, recognizing the sector’s strategic value to both nations’ industrial and economic growth.

Furthermore, the meeting affirmed the pivotal role of building international partnerships in enhancing the sustainability of the global mining sector.

During their discussions, the officials explored avenues for exchanging technical expertise and advancing the transfer of mining technologies between Saudi Arabia and France. They emphasized the mutual goal of reinforcing the resilience and reliability of supply chains in the mining and critical minerals sectors. The dialogue also reflected both countries’ shared commitment to promoting sustainable growth, innovation, and responsible resource development to meet future global demands.

According to the statement, “This line particularly with the Saudi Cabinet’s approval yesterday of a declaration of intent between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the French Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industry to enhance cooperation in the field of critical minerals.”

Saudi Arabia and France share a longstanding relationship marked by strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. The partnership has deepened in recent years, particularly under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 reform agenda, which aligns with France’s interest in fostering strategic ties in the Gulf region.
