The Saudi Arabian Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) has launched a five-day tour of the Saudi entrepreneurship ecosystem in Silicon Valley, California.
The five-day tour brings together six high-growth Saudi companies from various sectors as part of its initiative to support potential unicorns and enable their international expansion.
On the first day, Monsha’at organized four sessions and workshops with several venture capital leaders and founders of unicorn companies, including officials from the Silicon Valley Innovation Center, Botan Investments, Cooley LLP, and Stanford University’s StartX startup ecosystem.
The sessions aimed to develop the business plans of the six Saudi companies, strengthen their expansion strategies, build international networks to support growth and development, and prepare them for initial public offering readiness.
The first day also included a visit to Stanford University, which serves as a pivotal incubator for startups and is considered one of the region’s main innovation drivers. Research conducted at the university and its graduates has contributed to the establishment of many major companies. The day concluded with a dinner gathering attended by leading entrepreneurs and executives from some of the world’s top unicorn companies.
This tour is part of a series of international engagements through which Monsha’at aims to spotlight promising Saudi companies and provide entrepreneurs with opportunities to expand their business networks by meeting industry and entrepreneurship leaders from around the world.
