Saudi Arabia has strengthened its international culinary profile as the Culinary Arts Commission celebrated the newest Michelin Guide selections, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing prominence among global dining destinations.
The event reflected the steady commercial and cultural momentum of Saudi Arabia’s culinary sector, where traditional local cuisine is increasingly paired with contemporary techniques and international influences. Officials said that the initiative supports food tourism, strengthens the hospitality value chain, and enhances the kingdom’s appeal to international travelers.
Through its partnership with the Michelin Guide, the Culinary Arts Commission is working to elevate the global visibility of Saudi restaurants while improving dining standards and visitor experiences across the Kingdom. The Michelin Guide’s inspectors independently carry out evaluations and selections, applying internationally recognized criteria that reinforce credibility and transparency.
The commission said that the inclusion of Saudi dining establishments in the Michelin Guide is intended to expand market exposure for local chefs and producers, encourage investment in the hospitality sector, and support the development of competitive, high-quality restaurant concepts. These efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives of economic diversification, cultural development, and tourism growth.
Widely regarded as a benchmark for restaurant excellence, the Michelin Guide has played a central role in shaping global dining standards since its launch in the early twentieth century. Its star-rating system enhances restaurant visibility, attracts visitors, and promotes innovation across the culinary industry.
The inaugural Michelin Guide celebration in Riyadh brought together chefs, restaurant owners, and hospitality executives to recognize establishments featured in the 2026 edition and to mark the continued expansion of Saudi Arabia’s restaurant and culinary arts sector.
