The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center (RIPC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects.
The partnership aims to improve the quality of life, ensure seamless integration between current and future developments, and boost service efficiency for residents and visitors, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
The MoU was signed by the CEO of DGDA Jerry Inzerillo and the CEO of RIPC Eng. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al Badah. It outlines key areas of collaboration, including licensing and permits, oversight and inspection, data exchange, and project integration.
The DGDA-RIPC MoU seeks to increase coordination between the two entities to ensure reliability for residents and visitors alike by upholding the highest standards of quality and safety in future infrastructure projects in Diriyah.
It also aims to eliminate redundancies through integrated planning and execution, with both parties committed to adhering to required regulations and standards.
The MoU further contributes to enhancing the urban landscape of the Diriyah project, which spans 14 square kilometers and is designed to accommodate nearly 100,000 residents. The development will feature approximately 40 globally renowned hotel and resort brands, more than 18,000 residential units inspired by traditional Najdi architecture, nine museums, a university, and a wide array of cultural, entertainment, and recreational facilities.
The project is expected to generate over 178,000 direct jobs and attract approximately 50 million visits annually, positioning Diriyah as one of the world’s premier cultural and tourism destinations by 2030.
According to the statement, this agreement is part of DGDA’s broader efforts to transform Diriyah into one of Saudi Arabia’s most important historical landmarks. As the capital of the First Saudi State, Diriyah represents the Kingdom’s enduring heritage.
DGDA is committed to preserving and presenting its deep-rooted history through architecture, culture, arts, and knowledge, providing an immersive and unforgettable visitor experience that underscores Diriyah’s significance as a cultural and heritage destination.
