The Saudi EXIM Bank has signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the State Unitary Enterprise Industrial and Export Bank of Tajikistan and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD).
The agreements, signed during the 2025 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings held in Algeria, aim to expand strategic cooperation and enhance access for Saudi non-oil exports to promising international markets.
The Deputy CEO of Saudi EXIM Naif Al-Shammari signed the MoUs with the Chairman of the Board of the State Unitary Enterprise Industrial and Export Bank of Tajikistan Bobozoda Khokimshoh and AFESD’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Bader Alsaad.
According to the statement, Saudi EXIM Bank’s participation in the 2025 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings forms a key component of its broader strategic agenda to bolster international cooperation and promote economic growth across member countries.
By engaging with regional and international development institutions, Saudi EXIM aims to identify and cultivate investment and trade opportunities that align with its mandate to support non-oil exports and diversify the Kingdom’s economy.
As per the reports, the Bank’s involvement in the meetings underscores its commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships that facilitate access to export credit and trade financing solutions. These efforts are designed not only to enhance the global competitiveness of Saudi exporters but also to contribute meaningfully to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to economic growth, industry innovation, and reduced inequalities.
During the event, the bank’s delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives from export credit agencies and financial and commercial institutions from member countries. Discussions sought to deepen economic relations, expand trade cooperation, and build financing channels that empower local exporters to expand their international activities.
