Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has officially launched the Saudi strawberry season in local markets, collaborating with leading retailers to promote domestic produce.

The Saudi strawberry season features innovative packaging and displays, aiming to enhance the quality and reliability of national crops while addressing the growing demand from consumers.

According to the statement, “Recognized as a promising sector, strawberry cultivation has expanded significantly under ministry initiatives focused on agricultural sustainability and the diversification of local production sources.”

Saudi Strawberry Season Boosts Quality and Reliability

In an effort to reduce reliance on imports, the ministry is supplying high-quality tissue culture seedlings, with cultivation now widespread across the regions of Qassim, Taif, Al-Jouf, Hail, Riyadh, Al-Baha, Aseer, and Tabuk.

Furthermore, this initiative aims to boost local production and ensure a steady supply of fresh, high-quality strawberries.

By harnessing the unique natural resources of these regions, the ministry is fostering the development of a robust production and processing ecosystem.

This Saudi strawberry season supports diverse industries, including frozen fruits, jams, juices, and confectionery, creating new economic opportunities and adding significant value to the Kingdom’s agricultural sector.

Launch of Saudi Arabia’s 1st White Strawberry Harvest

Earlier this year, the Hail Region achieved a significant milestone with the launch of Saudi Arabia’s first white strawberry harvest, making the Kingdom the third country globally, after the United States and Japan, to produce this rare variety.

This achievement highlights the advanced development of Saudi Arabia’s agricultural sector and its capacity to embrace modern technologies, introducing high-value, nutrient-rich crops. It also underscores the ability of local farms to compete on the global stage by adopting innovative agricultural practices.
