Transport General Authority (Saudi TGA) has launched a pilot program for autonomous vehicle delivery services, under the patronage of Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Acting President of TGA.
The initiative is being rolled out at ROSHN Business Front as part of a strategic partnership between Jahez and ROSHN Group.
Dr. Al-Rumaih affirmed that the transport and logistics system places great importance on accelerating the adoption of modern technologies, considering this pilot program a significant step toward establishing an advanced transport system that supports smart cities, enhances quality of life, and promotes sustainability, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
According to the statement, the pilot program by TGA is designed to introduce innovative and secure delivery solutions powered by autonomous vehicles, with the goal of enhancing the efficiency and reliability of logistics services. By integrating advanced technology, the initiative aims to offer a seamless and modern delivery experience tailored to the evolving needs of residential and commercial communities.
The initiative stands as a practical example of collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing smart logistics services. It reflects the Transport General Authority’s vision for a more innovative, efficient, and sustainable future in mobility and logistics.
Recently, Saudi Arabia launched the first pilot phase of autonomous vehicles in Riyadh, with the initial fleet now operating across major public areas including King Khalid International Airport, Princess Nourah University, and other key locations.
The initiative is part of the country’s broader strategy to develop a smart transport ecosystem aligned with Vision 2030.
