The 13th International Pharmacy and Medicine Conference (ICPM 2025) has revealed the plan for three new pharmaceutical factories in Sharjah.

The three factories have a combined investment value exceeding $84 million (AED308.7 million). The agreements for the pharmaceutical factories were signed during the conference, which took place at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park.

ICPM, a leading event in the healthcare sector, plays a key role in advancing healthcare solutions, from pharmaceutical innovations to manufacturing processes. The conference focuses on strengthening collaboration, particularly within the B2B framework, to contribute to the overall improvement of healthcare industry.

The addition of these three new facilities to the existing pharmaceutical plant in Sharjah will enhance the region’s position in the pharmaceutical industry. The factories will focus on producing respiratory products, eye drops, antibiotic capsules, stomach medications, and first aid materials. Construction is expected to be completed between mid and late 2026.

Dr. Munir Rayyan, Chairman of the Organising Committee, emphasized the significance of these agreements in enhancing the pharmaceutical partnership between global companies and UAE-based factories, strengthening the UAE’s role in the regional pharmaceutical economy.

The new factories highlight the UAE’s commitment to pharmaceutical innovation and its ability to compete globally in the health sector.

The first factory, with a $44 million investment, will produce eye drops and respiratory products, leveraging advanced technologies. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2026.

The second, a $35 million investment in a 10,000-square-foot space, will produce antibiotic capsules and stomach medications. It will have a production capacity of 600 million capsules annually, with operations set to begin in 2026.

The third factory, worth $5 million, will focus on first aid products, with construction scheduled to commence later this year and completion anticipated early next year.
