The governments of the State of Qatar, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Syrian Arab Republic, and the Republic of Turkey have inaugurated the Turkey-Syria Natural Gas Pipeline, marking the commencement of natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Syria.
The announcement was made jointly by the four nations and hailed as a milestone in regional cooperation. The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) stated that the completion of the pipeline in record time represents a vital step in supporting Syria’s post-conflict reconstruction and normalization, following the significant political developments of December 2024.
The restored Turkey-Syria Pipeline connects Kilis in Turkey to Aleppo in Syria and has a daily transport capacity of up to 6 million cubic meters. With the start of natural gas flow to the Aleppo Power Plant, electricity generation in Syria is expected to improve significantly, aiding efforts to stabilize public services and boost local economic activity.
The QFFD stated that this project, realized in record time, represents a vital step in supporting Syria’s post-conflict reconstruction and normalization process, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to Syria’s recovery and stability.
QFFD highlighted that the Turkey-Syria Pipeline will directly impact the daily lives of Syrians by enhancing energy supply and contributing to the revival of essential infrastructure. The improved electricity supply is anticipated to support key services, industries, and homes across affected regions. The joint initiative also reflects deepening cooperation between the participating countries.
The Turkey-Syria Pipeline has been described as a demonstration of regional solidarity, and shared commitment to rebuilding Syria and promoting mutual trust among neighboring states. The official statement further emphasized the humanitarian and economic significance of the pipeline project.

The initiative carries a strong humanitarian impact, directly contributing to the restoration of Syria’s economy and the improvement of living conditions of its population. Beyond its technical and economic implications, the project signals a broader shift in regional diplomacy. The four countries reaffirmed their shared goal of promoting peace, stability, and prosperity throughout the region.
Furthermore, the statement stressed that the countries reaffirm their determination to advance peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, remain committed to building a future where cooperation prevails over division, and ensure that people in the region share the blessings of security development, and mutual trust.
The Turkey-Syria Pipeline is expected to play a pivotal role in regional energy integration and is seen as a foundation for future projects that could strengthen interdependence and energy security in the region.
